The space of the Arcade at 106, rue de Carouge offers a variety of activities including a space to organize concerts in which all the local artists and neighboring France are welcome, including Thursday night for rock sessions, pop, jazz. Friday Arcade hosts the "World Caravan" all groups of different ethnicities and cultures occur on this occasion to share their music from all over the world.
This is an opportunity to hear real musicians who play real instruments to animate a real good evening. If you love electronic music and "dj's" behind barriers 20 meters from the scene while the Arcade is not indicated because, unlike big business of show business, the Arcade favors the intimacy, conviviality, contact between artists and the public, it wants to unite people in a unique and diverse musical atmosphere.
Lately, November 26, three groups performed the same evening of Thursday, "The Young Once", "Lukacs 'and' The Canettes", all from Geneva; they light up the Arcade in an atmosphere of rock and bluesy. The next evening, as part of "Caravane du monde" (World Caravan), it was the turn of the group "Latin fusion" they sent the temperature up several degrees in the Arcade with their music from Venezuela, Mexico, Spain and Italy.
For the month of December you will have the opportunity to enjoy Thursday, December 3 a rock band "Fuzzy Dunlop" and Friday 4, tribute to the great singer Myriam Makeba given by the duo "Tribute to Makeba," a gospel evening a special moment not to be missed.
"Live at the Arcade" offers on December 10 the option of seeing Nikola Whallon and his electric violin, Paul Aspell and Yush group, followed by Diracula pseudonym that hides a singer came directly from Transylvania, guaranteed thrills!
The festivities continue on December 11 under the banner of swing, groove and "Jazzattitudes" with the jazz trio of the same name and will finish the season in style, on Thursday 17 a choir composed of 15 women, "Kerbiba" to raise our mind just before Christmas, will follow a reggae duet "I-Twins" and finally "Florebo" will warm even the ambience of the Arcade with their island music.
On Friday 18 accompanied by a Bolivian group, you will be charmed by its Swiss-Bolivian singer, author and interpreter, who distil its harmonious melodies with hints of "trova" style text to Cuban songs, including an ambassador who is the great poet Cuban singer Silvio Rodriguez.
But L'Arcade has many strings to its bow; it also offers everyday a place for conferences or workshops, available for associations and institutions, general meetings or other events. The space is flexible, at the convenience of the occupant, and adapts to individual needs.
