ICA members are national and international co-operative organisations in all sectors of activity including agriculture, banking, fisheries, health, housing, industry, insurance, tourism and consumer co-operatives. Currently, ICA has 231 member organisations from 89 countries, representing more than 800 million individuals worldwide. ICA will hold its 2009 General Assembly in Geneva from 15 to 20 November. The Assembly will focus on the fact that today the global crisis offers numerous opportunities for co-operative growth and development. Economic recovery, sustainable energy, and Climate Change -- major challenges to all enterprises -- will be addressed from the stand point of co-operative opportunity.
