Geneva Music Festival

This year, the 18th annual Geneva Music Festival will take place June 20th through 22th, 2008. The "Village of Associations" will host 50 booths within the Music Festival area, held by non-profit organizations. Each year, food and refreshment booths are set up for the numerous visitors attending the Festival. The purpose of the organizations must be to promote cultural, social, educational, humanitarian or environment causes.

ICVolunteers is this year again among the organizations to have a booth. The benefits will be dedicated to our sustainable development project "En route vert demain". 

Looking for Volunteers for the Booth (20 to 22nd June 2008):

We are still seeking for volunteers to work at this fundraising event at the ICVolunteers stand, which this year, will be located at the Parc Bastions, Geneva.   

We are looking for volunteers for the following tasks:

• Cooks/Chefs: cooks, tasters, mixers etc…all this with music and fun atmosphere!
• Waiters/waitresses: Soft drinks, beer, cocktails, fine wines or simply water… We are counting on you to ensure people quench their thirsts!!! 
• Preparing: vegetables and meat: Cut, cut and more cutting!
• Handymen: (and dismantlers) of stands: If cooking and serving is not your cup of tea, you are welcome to come flex your muscles and help us with setting up and/or dismantling the stand. and service are not for you, come  help us for setting up the stand.

We are still looking for people to help in particular in the evening from 5 pm to 2 am on the evening of 20th, 21st and 22nd June 2008.

It's a fun moment to listen to music and have a good time!

Coordinator for the preparation (end of May to end of June 2008):

Booth preparations

• Contact organizations who have participated previously
• Contact suppliers and arrange purchasing
• Manage a team of 30 volunteers
• Prepare a questionnaire for volunteers involved in the project
• Host a thank you party
• Manning the booth

Set up the booth

• Supervise the booth during the 3 days and nights of the festival
• Close the booth
• Manage the cash register and receipts

Final Report

• Redistribute equipment and unused stock
• Finalize project accounting
• Submit a report

Qualifications

• Be fluent in French, good knowledge of English
• Have the capacity to manage a team
• Be able to work under stress
• Have a good sense of priorities
• Be able to work autonomously
• Be diplomatic
• Have team spirit
• If possible, have a car

Required Experience

• Have one year of experience in the hotel or restaurant industry
• Have some accounting experience
• Have experience in starting projects
