ServicesCyberVolunteering The CyberVolunteers Program recruits, trains and coordinates volunteers with skills in information and communication technology (ICT) for development. Volunteers participate in local, regional and international projects for a period of several weeks or months, offering their skills in areas such as web or software development, system administration and content generation. The Program values in particular South-South exchanges, but also includes South-North and North-South cooperation. The Program creates opportunities for volunteers to gain experience and offer their skills. Our partner organizations can learn valuable skills from cyber-volunteers and, in turn, are then able to teach others. ICTS to Aid DevelopmentCyberVolunteers sees information and communication technologies (ICTs) not as an end-goal, but rather as a tool for development, in that ICTs empower local populations and stimulate their economy. The added value generated by the digital society, in particular through the Internet, offers a unique occasion to share knowledge of ICTs in real-time. The volunteer, being from a different culture, is the mediator between cultures for knowledge sharing, be it transferring existing knowledge or acquiring new knowledge.
